Earlier this week the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT) officially launched ‘Ask A&E’ – their new online symptom checker. The web-based platform allows patients who may be unsure what to do or where to go next interact with a Chatbot.
Through a series of questions, the application can provide advice on the most suitable healthcare setting for their need; whether that is at the RBFT, their GP, a pharmacist or even with self-care at home.
The ‘Ask A&E’ product forms part of RBFT’s broader digital journey and strategy, where their vision is to develop digital technology and innovative ideas to provide a better experience to patients.
They are exploring how they can streamline and provide a consistent approach for patients and other healthcare professionals to be able to access their services. The Ask A&E platform is the foundation of this journey.
