Free NHS Health Checks in the Community
We are pleased to let you know that free NHS Health Checks are now available at community venues across Reading.
These checks are a great way to understand your health and receive advice on how to stay well. NHS staff will check your:
- Height and weight
- Blood pressure
- Cholesterol and blood sugar
- General wellbeing

Book an appointment
You can book online here or call our helpline on 0118 304 8841 if you need help.
Walk‑in option
You can also walk in without an appointment. Please note that waiting times may vary. A calendar of locations and times is available online.
Eligibility
You can have a health check if you:
- Are 18 or over
- Live in Reading
- Haven’t had an NHS Health Check in the last 2 years
- Are not currently receiving treatment for diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, or chronic kidney disease
- Are not taking statins
